what are good fishing rods for a beginner fisher and what are good baits.?

need to be availible in england and the baits must not need to go in the fridge or be alive.

you can pick up a cheap silstar carp rod for about £30 and a reel will set you back about £20+ then theres the line, hooks ,landing net etc etc . bait wise i would try floating bread or dog biscuit. try bennets of Sheffield or Argos or just get a fishing magazine and look at the bargains.

My secret bait, (no longer secret now) star burst for carp. They love them, but don’t put a whole one on a hook that’s a bit big.

    Zebco spincast outfit & worms.
This has probably caught more fish than all others put together.

any type of rod is good for a fisher.
you can catch anything with a worm and hook.
that’s what my friend used and caught a HUGE large mouth bass. . .
    it was hilarious.
sorry the worms are alive and shrivel up in the fridge

order you a zebco 33, been fishing for over 20 years and all of the hype about the newer reels are not all that. my semi-secret bait is a french fry or chip whatever you call them, bottom fish can not resist them

Try an ugly stick, it’s nearly unbreakable, and is great even for experienced fisherman. The price is about 30 dollars. The best bait would be a spinner bait… spinner baits are easy to work… For beginners all they need to do, is simply cast and reel back in. Spinnerbait would get those beginners lots of fish. And hopefully get them further interested in the sport.

i would stand by my ugly stick above all else, very durable and fairly decent for the price. patience is the very best bait, however, worms, shrimp, other fish, bread, cheese, they all have the potential to catch fish.

shakespeare 4’8" ultralight ugly stick with a zebco 33. Been catching tons of 15 pound carp using this setup with 12 pound line, and corn bread, and cheese make decent usable baits not my favorite though. my foavorite is by far a jig.

Go onto the wmac website: wmac.co.uk and pick up a cheap carp rod. A good rod for a beginner is the Ron Thompson zensorflex carp. Here is the website address for the rod on the wmac website: http://www.wmac.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2ewmac%2eco%2euk%2fcgi%2dbin%2fss000001%2epl%3fTB%3dA%26GB%3d%26SS%3drod%26PR%3d2%26REFPAGE%3dhttp%253a%252f%252fwmac%252eco%252euk%252f%26PN%3d2&WD=rod&PREVQUERY=REFPAGE%3dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww%2ewmac%2eco%2euk%252Fcgi%2dbin%252Fss000001%2epl%253FTB%253DA%2526GB%253D%2526SS%253Drod%2526PR%253D2%2526REFPAGE%253Dhttp%25253a%25252f%25252fwmac%25252eco%25252euk%25252f%2526PN%253D1%26PREVQUERY%3dTB%253DA%2526GB%253D%2526SS%253Drod%2526PR%253D2%26RANDOM%3dNETQUOTEVAR%253ARANDOM%26PAGE%3dSEARCH%26SS%3drod%26TB%3dA%26PR%3d1%26ACTION%3dSearch&PN=ron_thompson%2ehtml%23a10#a10

Scroll down to the zensorflex carp rod and click on more info to find out more. I own a rod like it and find it great.

Good baits for carp are sweet corn, bread, luncheon meat (spam), chick peas, soaked and boiled peanuts also work well. You can even try types of sweets, i’ve caught using fruit pastels before. Chivers strawberry jelly is a good bait but you have to use it in the winter because otherwise it will melt slightly and fall off the hook.

    Good Luck ;)
